Hello there,
We had our first online meeting and I thought it was lovely. Lovely to meet you, lovely to hear you and lovely to connect, it made me realise how important community is.
To those who came - Thank you!
I often worry about zoom meetings, worry that they will be hard to connect to people through these little screens, but for me, it didn’t take long to get a heartful experience from it and feel a real sense of connection, making people more than just names, but 3D and real.
I would LOVE to hear any comments you may have or anything you wish to share which came up from it.
I know someone in the group wanted to hear more about a project I facilitate on so here is the link - Mindful in nature
For those of you who didn’t come, this is what we explored -
We began with saying hello and a brief share of where people are at in their lives.
Then we went on to do automatic/free style writing. If you don’t know what that is, take a look at this post which briefly explains it- Free writing
Then I offered three writing prompts with a little explanation behind them, all of them had the essence of spring woven through them.
If you imagine yourself as a forest, what lies below the surface skin, the soil. Exploring deeper, what is within the dark fertile soil of your soul. Are there seeds waiting there, seeds of longing, seeds wanting to be grown into your days. How do those seeds feel, taste, seem. What are those seeds. And I also spoke of just really listening to to what arises within in the way of image, feeling or thought, without letting people pleasing tendencies get in the way by trying to create an idea of a seed you know will be approved of and please others. But instead to really listen and feel without putting down what arises down as silly.
Next we explored the seed casing, nest or cocoon these new beginnings will need in order to have space around their growth. A place where those tender and vulnerable new beginnings can be given space, protection and quiet. Sometimes these seed casings are time away from certain people, more alone time, a space that can hold you at home or in the garden. They are somewhere that allows us to remember the feeling of wanting our beginnings to grow, they remind us of who we are, so we can strengthen in our resolve.
We looked at the compost, what can we bring into our lives that nourish and help grow our longings. It could be time alone, time in nature, listening to podcasts, writing, exploring creativity, dancing, speaking our truth, an online class, good food, cooking, sleeping, rest, asking for help, connecting with new people and places and so on. I spoke of compost as a way of creating action around our intention. Creating the conditions for growth. Intention with action, no matter how soft and slow, is a powerful partnership.
Then there was a small space in which anyone who felt to share something about what we had explored together could bring that to the group.
Again, thank you for all who came, it was also lovely to have a Scot and some Irish folk, I felt very at home, so much love to all those who couldn’t come, and I hope I get to see you on another gathering.
If you came, and have any feedback, suggestions or wonderings, feel free to comment below. And, if you didn’t come, feel free to comment also.
The date for the next gathering will be on Sundays connection letter.
Much warmth and wild beauty to you
Brigit x
PS. Im wondering if you would like to be taken on an online forage walk with me soon?
