Hello Lovelies,
THANK YOU for opening this email and being part of this community, what a joy it is to have you here.
I’m hoping this email makes sense, it’s filled with ramblings and late night thoughts…..
In my last connection letter, I spoke a little of how we have a wildness inside us, that if we let it, will pull us towards our right life. How it wants nothing but for the unique medicine we are filled with to form into our days. For our innate nature is one of caring deeply for our lives and wellbeing, its purpose is to lead us towards thriving. Within us, under the concrete and the taming is a deep well of kindness and care.
You could call it soul, entelechy, spirit, wild, integrity, compass or North Star. The part of us, just like all wild ones are filled with, that pulls us towards growth, medicine and aliveness. Always pointing to what serves our lives, keeps us safe, cares for us. The part that wants us to be the medicine we are capable of being for our own lives and for that medicine of us to ripple out into the world beyond us.
I deeply believe this, after spending years watching the land and our wild community for my own learning, for my recovery and for health, and I saw how each and every being was filled with the sense of taking care of themselves, looking out for their needs and bringing the medicine of themselves into the world, and in doing so, bringing it to others. It seemed to me, like this quality was a form of instructions that were deeply imprinted onto the cells of everything. And I came to realise, that as I too am made from wild, then it must be stamped into my dna, my cells, my make up too. But, I had just moved so very far from listening and trusting myself due to upbringing, schooling, traumatic events and abuse, that I was no longer on speaking terms with it.
And as I was pondering this recently, I came across a thought.
Our soul, or integrity, innate nature or compass (whatever you feel to call it) if listened to, is in its true form, a deeply reciprocal part of us, it inhabits us, it is our true direction and nature, offering a wealth of knowledge and insight that benefits our lives, our health and our mental wellbeing. Just as our body is a reciprocal bond to our soul, for it is the place it inhabits, the place that forms the actions needed to achieve the souls longings.
But, if we don’t listen, if we hide from the tugs and pulls of our soul, if we learn to feel embarrassed of our dreams and longings, or unworthy of our desires and needs. Can the souls relentless pursuit to pull us away from a life not in our integrity, start to feel like a parasitical bond?
