Slow Sunday Letter
Acts of change often feel as if we are being incredibly harsh, violent or rude
Welcome to this fortnight slow Sunday letter, which from now on, will traverse a wide range of subjects that we all inevitably meet on this journey of being human.
This Sunday slow letter is looking at boundaries
If we are used to people pleasing, of shaping ourselves to fit in, suppressing our needs for external validation, then when we start to grow boundaries, when we begin to speak our needs, when we begin to live our lives guided by our own centre rather than another’s ideas, we can feel as if we are being violent, rude and nasty.

It can feel scary, as our whole act of protection and safety has been about being who we think another wants us to be. And its not only that we feel we are being rude, but the part of us that has used people pleasing as a form of safety, gets really scared that we are about to be cast out, shamed, disliked and unsafe.
