Hello and happy happy Imbolc!

Tajana Lukovic

I adore this day for all it represents and the story it holds. Im so pleased my father named me after Imbolc and the Celtic goddess whose day it is, Brigit, as this is also my birth month.

When Samhain (Halloween) comes, it is the end of the year, the closing of the light half of life, the threshold opens and invites us to descend.

The Callieach, the wise old blue faced hag, comes out, banging her blackthorn staff onto the dark soil, opening the gateway inward, she announces that the time to descend is upon us.

Brigit, like all wild ones, feels the call and journeyed into the blackness, allowing herself to let go of all that isnt her so she may journey fully into the black inner worlds to meet and know the medicine that is held there. Brigit is our version of Persephone, a goddess who knows what it is to die, to compost to listen to the blackness so she may bring seeds, medicine and beauty unfurling into our days when the time comes.
