I love poems, it hasn’t always been the way, and there are still many types of poems I do not love, or find it hard to connect with. I still remember how tight and rigid poetry lessons were at school, which led me to believe poetry wasn’t for me.
It was only later, when exploring new poets, that I discovered a rawness, a depth and a soul beauty wrapped in words, that I fell in love with poetry.
I love being introduced to poems by others, and so I thought I would like to send you a poem each month. I know I nearly always add them to the Sundays connection letter, but I like the thought of a post that is nothing but a poem that holds its own and isn’t blended with other words, writings and stories.
So here is my first ‘just a poem post’, this is by the magnificent and powerful Nikita Gill. Her book ‘Wild Embers’ is still one of my favourite poetry books.
